About the market
In the middle of Jena's old town wall ensemble between the Johannistor and the Pulverturm, the historic Christmas market in Jena shines in its full splendour again this year. The knights' mock battles whisk you away into gripping duels. Traditional crafts, fire shows and folk sounds let guests travel back to times gone by. Anyone who wants to escape the hustle and bustle is in exactly the right place in the Märchenhöhle (fairy-tale cave) – here fairy tales are vividly told for young and old. The Historic Christmas Market in Jena opens its doors from 26.11. to 13.12.2025, Monday to Thursday from 15:00 to 21:00 and Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 to 21:00. We warmly invite you to experience an unforgettable journey through time and to enjoy the magic of bygone eras at the historic Christmas market in Jena. A review of the 2025 programme can be viewed in an overview on jenakultur.de. Here we provide information about the new programme. Free admission
