With its small decorated wooden stalls, the traditional winter market in the mining town of Altenau invites you to visit from 18 December to 02 January. Every day from 14:00 to 21:00 a varied programme is offered over Glühwein and sweet treats. On 31 December from 21:00 to 01:00 the popular open-air New Year's Eve party also takes place. A highlight on New Year's Eve is the traditional torchlight walk with the HZV Altenau. The walk starts at 21:00 at the Kurgastzentrum Altenau (Hüttenstraße 9) and ends at around 22:30 at the Wandertreff of the HZV Altenau at the bus car park. Torches can be bought on site for a fee.
